WACO, TEXAS — Turning Point USA’s presence on Baylor University’s campus is generating mixed reactions among students, with some supporting its message and others raising concerns about safety and political influence.
The organization, known for its conservative political advocacy, has drawn attention from students passing through campus, prompting conversations about free speech and the role of politics in a university setting.
Rachel Segura, a Baylor student, said her primary concern is safety. She pointed to what she believes is a lack of security during events like this, especially when large crowds gather and strong opinions are involved.
Another student, Zainab Richardson, expressed a different concern. She said the presence of political figures on campus can create tension and raises questions about the influence these events may have on students.
Despite differing viewpoints, the event has encouraged discussion among students, highlighting a range of perspectives on political engagement, campus safety, and free expression.
As Turning Point USA continues its presence on campus, students are left to navigate these conversations and form their own opinions.
