WACO, TEXAS — Baylor University Police are warning students after an increase in e-scooter and bike theft across campus.

According to BUPD, e-scooters and bikes have been stolen from racks near campus building and outside the resident halls. Police say many of these thefts happen overnight.

Theft is often happening when vehicles are left unsecured, not properly locked or when people park them in areas with low visibility.

BUPD encourages students to register their e-scooters or bikes with Baylor Parking and Transportation Services. Doing this could help officers identify and recover stolen property.

Anyone with information about prior thefts is asked to contact BUPD.
